You Up? (Voyager)

Painted deep-space scene in a 1970s gouache style. The Voyager 1 probe drifts through dark space beneath a phone-style chat headed “Voyager 1, one light-day from Earth,” with a note reading “Signal travel time: 1 day each way.” A blue message sent Mon 2:16 AM reads “You up?” with a receipt reading “Delivered Tue 2:16 AM.” A gray reply arriving Wed 2:16 AM reads “Always.” and is marked “Sent the moment it arrived.” Text at the bottom reads “He’s 16 billion miles out. You’re on the couch.” Image made with Grok Imagine.

On Nov 18, Voyager 1 becomes the first human-made object one light-day from Earth. Forty-nine years in, it still answers.
